New Hall Primary School: Love to Learn

Year 4 visited Birmingham Thinktank – a science museum filled with all sorts of interesting things. We went to enhance our science curriculum, as this half-term’s topic has been ‘Power It Up’, learning all about electricity, circuits and conductors and insulators.

To start off our day, we enjoyed a specially delivered workshop on electricity. We saw static charges being produced, made Barbie’s hair stand on end, dressed up in funny costumes and made a human circuit! The children were able to answer a lot of the questions that were asked of them, due to the excellent knowledge that they have already acquired here at school.

We then spent some time exploring the Thinktank and its different levels, including ‘The Past’, ‘Our Changing Planet’ and ‘Wildlife and Marine Worlds’, including use of their fabulous science garden.

We all had a brilliant day.
