Admissions
Reception
For children starting in Reception an application must be made online at the Birmingham City Council website (link below) from the Autumn of the year before your child turns 4 years old. The Local Authority publish a date by which all applications must be completed online.
If you require further information from the Local Authority about how to apply for a Reception place, please contact 0121 303 1888 option 4.
Years 1 to 6
If you have a child in Years 1 to 6 you must make an application directly to New Hall Primary School. Application forms for a change of school (In-Year Applications) are available from the school office (or see below).
We will also need a copy of your child’s birth certificate and proof of address at which you live – a utility bill and benefit/tax credit statement is acceptable.
If there are no spaces in your child’s year group at New Hall Primary School, then they will be added to the school’s waiting list. Children are added to the waiting list in the following priority order:
- A child is in the care of the Local Authority (LAC).
- Siblings of the child already attend New Hall Primary School.
- Distance from New Hall Primary School to your home address.
Please note that the waiting list is subject to change when we receive new applications. This means that your child can be moved down the waiting list if other applicants better meet the criteria as detailed above. You can also go up the waiting list if a sibling is admitted into the school.
If an In-Year application is successful at New Hall Primary School, you will be contacted by telephone and a start date will be discussed and further information together with admission forms will be sent via email to complete and return before your child start date. Alternatively paper copies can be collected from the school office.
