Year 3 visited the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham.
In our Science lessons this half term, we have been learning all about plants, and this trip gave us a chance to show off what we have learnt about the parts of plants, pollination and what they plants need to grow successfully.
As well as using all of our amazing knowledge, we got to learn lots of new, fascinating things like how seeds grow and which plants and animals live in the rain forest. We also enjoyed the opportunity to meet a few of the Botanical Gardens’ friendly critters, which included a Giant African land snail, stick insects and a chameleon.
In our free time, as well as getting to meet lots of friendly peacocks during our picnic lunch outside, we practised our art skills with some sketching of our beautiful surroundings and visited the aviary to see some spectacular birds.
