On the 8th and 15th of October, Year 4 went to Pizza Express in Sutton Coldfield town centre to learn about where different foods come from.
We found out that tomatoes originally came from Mexico, but can also grow in other countries like Spain and England. We discovered that olives are from Greece and we used our knowledge of the climate close to the equator to know that they only grow in warm places.
As well as thinking about where the ingredients on our pizza comes from, we found out where our favourite foods originate from! Oliver loves chocolate from Mexico, Melinda likes jerk chicken and plantain from the Caribbean, Miss Scrivens enjoys tempura prawns from Japan and Miss Dudley can’t resist paella from Spain.
