New Hall was last inspected in September 2012 when it was judged to be a 'good school'.

Some of the strengths reported were:

  • Standards have been rising steadily since the previous inspection.
  • Achievement is good.
  • The quality of teaching and learning is good at all stages.
  • Behaviour in lessons is mostly good or outstanding.
  • Attendance has improved rapidly over the last three years and is now above the national average.
  • The headteacher and senior leadership team have very high aspirations for this school and work relentlessly towards achieving their challenging targets.
  • Pupils have a good awareness of the cultural diversity in school and in the communities in which they live and mix.
